The HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting course helps you build the practical skills and confidence to provide first aid, perform CPR and respond to emergencies in education and care environments. This nationally recognised unit is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining pre-course self-paced learning with face-to-face practical training and assessment.
At Australian Polytechnic Institute (AuPI), you will complete your theory preparation before class, then practise first aid and CPR skills with trainer guidance in a supportive, hands-on environment. This course is designed to help you feel more prepared, capable and confident when someone in your care needs urgent assistance.
In education and care settings, emergencies can happen quickly. A child may fall, become unwell, have an allergic reaction, need CPR or require immediate first aid support. This course helps you respond calmly, safely and practically when support is needed.
Your assessment may include knowledge questions, practical CPR demonstration, AED use in a simulated scenario, first aid response scenarios, trainer observation, workplace-style practical activities and simulated education and care emergency situations. You will receive clear instructions, and your trainer will guide you through what is required.
